Wyn-Lyn’s

Artist Tan Wyn Lyn engaged us to make a website for her. She wanted not just an online portfolio, but a site which could engage the viewer and let them learn more about her process and her viewpoint as an artist. She also wanted to be able to update the website on her own, and to let people know about her exhibitions through it.

Looking at Wyn Lyns’ paintings, the abstract quality and a certain sense of lightness were some consistencies that we decided to focus on when making the site. The muted tones of the site worked well with all her work, neither distracting nor overpowering the images. The menu bar is kept to the side. The menu bar is also kept simple, with just five submenus. The painting menu is divided into simply figurative and abstract. Clicking on the thumbnail images mutes the whole site and allows the viewer to focus on that particular painting, dimming the background.
