For the show Second Dance Song, organized by the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Shubigi wanted to create art books: Satirizing coffee table artbooks, (filled with gorgeous images and flaky content that no one reads) three books were created as an anti-thesis. They were:
Art of the Americas: Secrets Unearthed from Levels Seven to Two
Art of the United Kingdom: The Burden of British Art
Notions of Art: Thoughts from a Dot

The three books were designed to look exactly like coffee table books, sans the dust-jackets. Fifty books for each title were then printed and bound in-house.

Written in a tongue-in-cheek manner, these books are funny commentaries on the state of art in America, UK and Singapore. The Burden of British Art is a gem, an encyclopedic listing of the art in British museums which are ‘acquired’ from other countries.
