Sun City Triathlon Maps

Triathlon enthusiast Ryan Landy engaged us to draw a series of maps for the world-wide triathlon circuit. The maps were to be used on their website to allow the participants and interested parties to have a look at the overall route.

Working closely with Ryan and using screenshots of google earth & existing street maps, the maps took on a fun look. Much attention was paid to getting the detail of the ground right as it would be to the participants? detriment if it was inaccurate. Accuracy while maintaining an uncluttered look was the most challenging portion of this graphic illustration. Muted colours were used for the details with the routes colour-coded.

Another set of maps have also been created for the Singapore Triathlon in 2009.
